ABOUT THIS COURSE
TRAINYOUCAN
(ETDP SETA) Accredited Training Network and its members are committed to following all ETQA requirements as stipulated by SAQA.
This unit standard provides recognition for people who facilitate (or intend to facilitate) learning using a variety of methodologies.
Achieving this unit standard improves employability, supports career growth in training and development, and helps organisations identify
competent learning facilitators.
People credited with this unit standard are able to:
- Plan and prepare for facilitation;
- Facilitate learning; and
- Evaluate learning and facilitation.
COURSE SUMMARY
In particular, people credited with this unit standard are able to:
- Solve problems – deal with diversity and potential conflict in learning situations, including different rates of progression
for different learners and cultural and linguistic diversity; identify limitations of particular methodologies or activities and develop
alternatives where needed. - Work effectively with others and in teams – interact with learners in a manner that promotes effective learning; identify team roles
and plan own participation. - Organise and manage oneself and one’s activities responsibly and effectively – demonstrate planning and organisation skills
related to facilitation sessions. - Collect, analyse, organise and critically evaluate information – analyse learner needs and relevant information to plan appropriate
facilitation sessions. - Communicate effectively – ensure the learner clearly understands their role and what is expected; communicate in a culturally sensitive way.
- Use science and technology – understand the education and training potential of various technologies and demonstrate effective use to promote learning.
Note: Any person who wants to offer their services as an accredited individual, company, or training provider can only do so with a valid SOR (Statement of Results) from the ETDP SETA. No other document/certificate can be used, even if it reflects the same unit standard.
